B&L Develops Scandic Hotel at Hamburg Central Station

The hotel, featuring 328 guest rooms, is scheduled to open in 2028 and will form part of the “StadtKontor” urban quarter development at Hamburg Central Station. The mixed-use development will comprise offices, restaurants, hotels and a public car park. The centrally located hotel will be built within a listed section of the ensemble dating back to 1906, offering direct pedestrian access to Hamburg Central Station – one of Europe’s largest transport hubs, with around 550,000 passengers daily. The project envisions a modern, sustainable hotel concept designed to appeal to both business and leisure travellers. For Scandic, this marks another important step in its responsible expansion within the German market. In cooperation with the B&L Group, which has already developed the Scandic Hotel Frankfurt Hafenpark, a pioneering ESG-compliant property will be created in Hamburg. Through the energy-efficient refurbishment of the building envelope and the reuse of existing structures, the project underlines a responsible approach to resource management. With this new location, Scandic continues its successful growth story in Hamburg and further strengthens its position in the city’s dynamic hotel market.
